The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA), a Non-Governmental Organisation in the health sector has today (13 August 2004) released a multilingual manual on symptom management for people living with HIV/AIDS.

The HIVAN website and database will be undergoing a multi-level revamp over the next few months. Our AIDSDATA database now houses nearly 2000 organisations involved in HIV/AIDS related work across South Africa and can be queried using the general search function or an advanced search function. To add your organisation to the AIDSDATA database, please email HIVAN on [email protected]. We are also launching into our annual major database update on 01 December 2004. HIVAN's second Ethnography Course

The second in the series of annual Ethnography in Action courses, run by HIVAN in partnership with the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, New York, has drawn to a close. Sponsored by the NIH (National Institutes for Health), this research methods course trains researchers and NGO workers in socially sensitive ways through which to address the HIV/AIDS crisis.
