Description: We aim to provide holistic home and community care to people with HIV/AIDS, their families and communities. Peer education and Home Based Care training is also given. Spiritual and material help is also provided to orphans and vulnerable children. Izandla Zothando Centocow AIDS project is a registered Community Based organization. It is located in Centocow Mission in KwaZulu-Natal under Ingwe Local Municipality in Sisonke District Municipality. Izandla Zothando targets four wards in three Tribal Authorities. It covers + 1500km² and has a population + 50 000. A research that was conducted in 2002 it revealed that the prevalence rate of HIV/AIDS was too high. The ante-natal clinic in the local hospital showed that 35% of all those who tested were HIV positive. The emphasis of work of this organization is on HIV/AIDS with the following projects: Home Based Care, Orphan and Vulnerable children, Youth Peer Education and Income Generating Project.
