Description: The UCT HIV/AIDS Unit works to equip graduates to respond to the HIV/AIDS epidemic at both a personal and professional level. Through a range of responses, both curricular and co-curricular, the HIV/AIDS Unit seeks to produce graduates who become part of a compassionate citizenry that is responding and continues to respond to HIV/AIDS issues as the epidemic evolves. The Unit is responsible for implementing many aspects of the UCT policy on HIV/AIDS, particularly through education, training and awareness programmes for UCT students and staff and co-ordinating campus-wide AIDS initiatives. The Unit also facilitates outreach programmes in surrounding communities.
