The South African Children's Forum on HIV/AIDS - Workshop Report

The South African Children's Forum on HIV/AIDS was held in Cape Town in August 2001. Ninety HIV-affected children (between the ages of seven and 18 years) participated in the event, together with 18 of their caregivers and a number of representatives from national government and parliament.

The aim of the Forum was to provide these children with the opportunity to have their voices heard and for their recommendations to inform the drafting and implementation of relevant policies and legislation.

The Workshop Report captures the experiences of children affected by HIV/AIDS through the stories and artwork of the children who participated
in the event. Each chapter in the report explores one of the key themes to emerge from the children's shared experiences.

To receive a copy of the report, email: [email protected], including the
following details: name, position, organisation, postal address, e-mail, address, phone and fax.
