New in June: African Journal of AIDS Research (AJAR)
Reprinted courtesy of AF-AIDS 2002 ([email protected])
|
This very readable journal documenting the AIDS pandemic responds to the call for: 'African solutions to African Problems and relevant reliable and appropriate research'.
AJAR is not only relevant to researchers, students, professionals and NGOs working in the field of AIDS research, but will interest all in Africa living with and affected by the AIDS pandemic. The articles are accessible, informative and thought-provoking.
AJAR publishes papers that make an original contribution to the understanding of the social dimensions of HIV/AIDS in African contexts.
Papers relating to impact, care, prevention, and social planning will be published. AJAR includes papers from the disciplines of sociology,
demography, epidemiology, psychology, anthropology, media, cultural studies,
nursing, economics, social work and more.
AJAR is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary research journal which focuses on AIDS in African contexts, with particular emphasis on the work of
researchers from the social sciences and humanities. Papers submitted to AJAR are reviewed by at least two appropriately qualified and experienced referees to ensure that all papers accepted by the Journal are methodologically and conceptually sound and make an original contribution in the field. AJAR fills the need for the documentation of reliable research
results in the social sciences.
AJAR is published in South Africa by NISC. Kevin Kelly ([email protected]) of the Centre for AIDS Development, Research and Evaluation (CADRE) is the Managing Editor.
