Many women are the only carer for their dependents. Their optimism & creative ability is impressive & this project is an opportunity to give economic empowerment to the women of the Ingwavuma area. The Women?’s Centre had been built with funding from the Local Department of Economic Development. It is in this Centre that the Fancy Stitch Group works.

Description: Ford has launched an HIV/AIDS programme, the purpose of which is to educate employees about HIV/AIDS and genrally promote awareness about the virus. This encompasses a twelve month course where AIDS is taught as a school subject to pre-sexually active children. The second pilot project involves caring for people who are infected with HIV (this includes empowerment and income generation projects) and a comprehensive care programme for HIV positive children.
