The aim of the Campus HIV/AIDS Support Unit is to ensure that students and staff have adequate access to pre- and post-test counselling as well as to more long-term therapeutic services. The Campus HIV/AIDS Support Unit is an initiative that was founded by The Centre for HIV/AIDS Networking (HIVAN). After three successful years, it has been formally incorporated into the University of KwaZulu-Natal's AIDS Programme.
Student Counselling, Student Health Services and the Campus HIV/AIDS Support Unit at the University of KwaZulu-Natal will provide this counselling service.
Existing trained personnel will be supplemented by the services of trained psychology students as well as trainee and intern psychologists at the Department of Psychology.
