Nelson Mandela Foundation launches 46664 volunteer booklet

05 December 2005. Nelson Mandela Foundation.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation?’s 46664 Campaign brings together artists, media and businesses to educate people about HIV/AIDS. Mr Mandela gave his prison number to this campaign to remind us that the millions of people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS are more than just numbers and statistics.

World AIDS Day is commemorated around the world on 1 December. There are news and events to show progress made in dealing with the epidemic. People are also reminded of how much still needs to be done. The Nelson Mandela Foundation started a national ?‘46664 Volunteer Campaign?’ to mark World AIDS Day on 1 December 2004. Mr Mandela asked all South Africans to take responsibility for the fight against HIV/AIDS. We can do this through volunteering and creating ?‘moments for change?’. We hope this booklet will help you to ?‘give one minute of your life to AIDS?’.
