It's that time of year again when East Coast Radio and its partners Cell C, The Gift of the Givers, Independent Newspapers, Rotary & Durban Deliveries, pull out all the stops to make sure that children who are suffering in KZN are given much-needed assistance during the holiday season. We need your community to get involved & make a difference to these children?s lives.
In a bold move to make this year?s Toy Story even more effective than last year and in keeping with the theme of bringing joy to children who have been infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS, Toy Story 2004 will be providing food parcels to child-headed & care-giver households in KwaZulu-Natal. The food hamper, worth R200, will feed a family of four for four to six weeks. Each child in the family will also receive a new toy and a goodie bag of sweets, chips and a cold drink.
The food Hamper will consist of the following: 12.5 kg mielie meal; 10 kg rice; 5 kg beans; 2.5 kg sugar; 800 g soup powder; 800 g soya; 250 g tea; 1 kg salt; 750 ml oil; 1 bar green soap and 4 cakes bath soap.
