The MAC AIDS Fund/Global Foundation Grant Guidelines

The MAC AIDS Fund makes grants to registered charitable, non-profit organizations worldwide that provide basic needs, direct services, education, awareness and prevention programs to men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS.
The MAC AIDS Fund will not fund the following: individuals, research, political or fraternal organizations.
Application Deadline: Accepted year-round.
Grant Periods:Every attempt will be made to review completed proposals that are received at least three weeks prior to quarterly board meetings, usually held in March, June, September and December.
Grant Categories:
Basic Needs Grants - Funding for basic needs, such as food, clothing, housing or shelter
(short-term or transitional).
Education, Prevention and Awareness Grants -
Funding for programs that bring HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention issues to public attention.
Direct Service Grants - Funding for direct services related to healthcare, social services, transportation (for medical visits, outpatient visits and other social services), and health-related recreational activities.
Event Sponsorship - The MAC AIDS Fund will consider event sponsorship requests when the
event is designed to raise monies that will directly benefit an HIV/AIDS organization and its clients. No monies may be used for start up costs,
overhead, administration, rentals of any description, salaries of any kind, catering or deccor. Funds will be payable to the benefiting agency.
Special Needs - The MAC AIDS Fund will consider requests for special needs on a case-by-case basis throughout the year. These requests should be submitted in a letter to the Fund and are not part of the quarterly grant giving process.
The MAC AIDS Fund Grant Application Format:
Please provide two complete sets of all requested information. All information is to be presented in the order listed.
(a) Name of Organization; Address (street, city, state, and zip code); Tax ID Number; Contact person and title; Phone number and fax number; Amount requested; A brief statement of purpose for funds requested, identifying the grant
category for which you wish to be considered and the project/program title, if applicable.
(b)Your organization's history, mission statement, key achievements, current goals and objectives. Describe your current organizational structure including staff and volunteer support (two-page maximum, excluding printed materials/reports/brochures.)
(c) Demographics and the needs of the community or communities your organization serves. Please comment on other organizations in the area
addressing the needs of these individuals and your collaborative initiatives with those organizations.
(d) Proposed program, including purpose, need, specific services, target population, other sources of funding and plans for continued funding if the programme is ongoing. Please state the percentage of your budget allocated toward program versus administration in the most recent completed fiscal year. Please also provide detailed budget justification for the proposed
program.
(e) Anticipated outcome of the proposed project or program and how outcomes will be measured and evaluated.
(f) How a grant from the MAC AIDS Fund would make a difference in the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS.
(g) Please attach the following in the listed order:
Current fiscal year organization operating budget;
A copy of your organization's charitable status (in the U.S., IRS 501(c)(3) status); Most recent audited financial statements; Most recent annual report (if there is none, please note); Most recent Form 990-PF (U.S. organizations only)
(h) If you are prior grant recipient, a brief narrative that describes progress of program funded should be furnished, if not previously submitted.
A site visit may be required prior to final review of any grant request.
