The Vodacom Foundation Award - WHEAT
|
The Women's Hope and Education Trust (WHEAT)was established to recognise, build and promote women's efforts to bring about change in South Africa.
We support women working at grassroots to strengthen their capacity. e.g. in community development and through the acquisition of leadership skills. The WHEAT Trust brings new opportunities to community groups and individual women who have shown initiative, innovation and perseverance in their efforts to make a better life for their communities.
The WHEAT Trust, in partnership with The Vodacom Foundation, is offering awards to enable women to attend HIV/AIDS training courses. All Community Groups led by women who would like to extend their service to include Home-Based Care for people living with HIV/AIDS are invited to nominate their members for the award.
Eligibility:
Criteria for selection include the following:
- Groups or individuals should be able to show that they have a track record in and commitment to improve the qualities of the lives of members of their communities. Their involvement should be for a period of not less than two years.
- The Nominee should have a desire to obtain new skills and to push out of existing boundaries on personal and community levels.
- The Nominated person or group should demonstrate leadership qualities.
- The Nominee should promise to give back to the community group.
- You should identify the training you need and the Training Provider in your area.
- The Nominee/group must be able to attend the training course in the next twelve months.
