Reportback on first meeting in Ntshongweni, KwaZulu-Natal
HIVAN Community Liaison and Media teams

The HIVAN Community Liaison Team convened with community and other stakeholders in the Ntshongweni area in June this year for an information-sharing session.
The meeting was attended by representatives of local NGOs (including gardens, craft, youth and development projects), community health workers, home-based caregivers, delegates from the Department of Land Affairs and the local council.
The gathering was seen as a first step towards the facilitation of partnerships between the various stakeholders so that a united and effective community response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic could be formulated, implemented and sustained.
