Request for Information on the Identification, Monitoring and Support for Orphans

AF-AIDS 2002
The Children's Institute (UCT) is conducting research in South Africa on the identification, monitoring and support of children who have been orphaned or who are at risk of being orphaned. Very broadly, the research relates to the question of how such children are identified and, once identified, are monitored and supported by the various services in their community.

As part of this research the institute would like to know what is already being done to actively identify and support such children, focusing particularly on schools, health facilities and social development agencies (including welfare facilities, NGOs, Home Based Care organisations etc.)

If you are involved in, or know about any community projects, schools, health clinics or welfare organisations where there has been an effort made to actively identify such children, please email Tanya Wilson at [email protected]
