Nedcor sponsors Sinikithemba's Symphony of Hope

The Sinikithemba HIV/AIDS Christian Care Centre, based at McCord Hospital in Overport, Durban, has been providing dedicated services to HIV-positive patients since 1996. A gala evening event called "Symphony of Hope" was recently held at the Durban City Hall to raise funds for the Care Centre's new premises, Ridge House.
Ridge House will offer pre- and post-HIV test counselling, a home-based care training unit, income generation training for HIV-positive people and peer counnselling training for KZN church and business communities.
At the event, the internationally renowned composor Tim Janis conducted the KZNPO in his "Music of Hope" composition, while soloists Stacey Almond, Pinkie Mtshali and Derrick Ellis entertained guests with popular songs. A fashion show and charity auction, held as part of the evening's proceedings, also assisted in raising funds.
The Symphony of Hope event was sponsored by the Nedcor Foundation, which focuses its activities on the crucial areas of education, business and leadership development, conservation and the environment, as well as primary healthcare and poverty relief. The Nedcor Foundaton is also an ongoing supporter and sponsor of the Sinikithemba HIV/AIDS Christian Care Centre's income-generation project. |
