The September 2004 South and North Coast's HIV/AIDS Fora, hosted by HIVAN, were held at the Shallcross Community Hall in the South Coast and the Verulam Child and Family Welfare Society in the North Coast. The title for these fora was “The Dream Centre – Palliative Medical Care?.

HIV/AIDS will kill 20 percent of southern Africa's agricultural workers by 2020, researchers said on Thursday, possibly threatening food production in a region already facing frequent shortages.

At first sight, the issues of HIV/AIDS and water would appear to bear very little relation to each other. HIV/AIDS is a global-scale pandemic that is transmitted between people primarily through sexual contact, while water is a renewable natural resource of which the availability depends on a variety of geographic and climatic factors.
