Nothing is know about the level of exposure of such agents and their effect on such people in terms of development of AIDS. Work is being done at the Medical School UN on such rural people and also at the Health Clinic, Technikon Witwatersrand who will monitor African people in a more urban/township setting. The second is to investigate the use of natural plant medicants as a control of AIDS development. The work is focussing on extracts of Sutherlandia frutescens and includes not only a formal medical approach but also homoeopathy principles.
