Overview

The University of Natal Department of Dermatology is based at King Edward Hospital and serves the whole of KwaZulu Natal and the northern part of the Eastern Cape. The department provides in- and out-patient care of patients with cutaneous manifestations of HIV and is the only referral centre for the whole region. Counselling, medical treatment and research are listed by the department as activities they are involved in. Current projects include interventions with regards to Karposii Sarcoma, documentation of Erythroderma, investigating anti-TB drug reactions in HIV and systemmatic mycoses in HIV.
